Butler honored with Outstanding Alumni Award
Steve Butler ’00, a current board member of the Kennesaw State University Alumni Association, recently received an Outstanding Alumni Award from the KSU College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
“It is an amazing honor to receive this award,” Butler said. “I have a great deal of respect for the faculty and all they did to prepare me for my professional endeavors. This says more about the growth of KSU alumni and their impact in the field of social sciences.
“I work with a number of talented KSU graduates at the State Capitol and I’m excited to see my fellow alumni contributing to public policy in Georgia.”
In recognition of his outstanding contributions to his profession and the community, Butler was presented with the award at the College of Humanities and Social Sciences Homecoming Luncheon. The event was held on the Kennesaw campus, at the Legacy Gazebo, the afternoon of Saturday, Oct. 15.
A double-major graduate of Kennesaw State, Butler has a Bachelor of Arts in both political science and history. Butler serves as the chief executive officer of Connect Public Relations Inc., a company he founded in December 2004. Previously, he gained more than 10 years of experience in politics and government through Grady Health System, the Fulton County Government and the Georgia Department of Education.
Butler joined the KSU Alumni Association board of directors in the summer of 2013. He currently holds an Executive Committee position as chair of the Governance Committee.
