Kennesaw State University and its Office of Alumni Relations celebrated Homecoming
Week 2016 from Oct. 10-15. Several events were held throughout the week, including
an open house at the Kennesaw State Alumni House, a reunion of Southern Polytechnic
State University alumni, and the annual Distinguished Alumni Awards Dinner. The week
concluded with a tailgate party and the Owls’ home football game with Liberty University
on Saturday, Oct. 15.
SPSU Alumni Reunion
Alumni of the former Southern Polytechnic State University gathered together on Thursday, Oct. 13 to celebrate the continued success of Kennesaw State University programs on the Marietta campus, along with honoring the legacy that is SPSU. The event, sponsored by Nationwide, was held at Red Hare Brewery in Marietta, where beer sampling and facility tours took place.
Distinguished Alumni Awards Dinner
The Kennesaw State University Alumni Association’s annual Distinguished Alumni Awards Dinner, sponsored by Nationwide and Credit Union of Georgia, was hosted by the Office of Alumni Relations the evening of Friday, Oct. 14. The ceremony was held at the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel and Convention Center, where three distinguished alumni (Don Davidson ’77, Jim J. Hills ’77 and Nels Peterson ’01) and one current faculty member (Dr. Chuck Aust) were honored with prestigious awards.
Tailgate and Football Game
Again, there was a large turnout of Kennesaw State University alumni, along with family and friends of the KSU community who attended the tailgate party and homecoming football game for the Owls on Saturday, Oct. 15. Lots of food, drinks, comradery and fun was had by all at the tailgate and Kennesaw State's night game.
