Homecoming 2017

Kennesaw State University and its Office of Alumni Relations celebrated Homecoming Week 2017 from Oct. 16-21. Many events were held throughout the week, including a reunion of Southern Polytechnic State University alumni, the Cards for Kids Service Project and the annual Distinguished Alumni Awards Dinner. The week concluded on Saturday, Oct. 21 with a homecoming parade prior to the Owls' 17-3 football win over Big South Conference rival Gardner-Webb University. 

SPSU Alumni Reunion

Alumni of the former Southern Polytechnic State University came together on Tuesday, Oct. 17 to celebrate the continued success of Kennesaw State University programs on the Marietta campus, along with honoring the legacy that is SPSU. The event was held at Red Hare Brewery in Marietta, where reminiscing, beer sampling and facility tours took place.

Cards for Kids Service Project

On the evening of Wednesday, Oct. 18, several alumni and others stopped by the Kennesaw State University Alumni House to create cards for hospitalized children across the nation and parents of kids staying at the Atlanta Ronald McDonald House. The service project was a joint venture between the KSU Office of Alumni Relations and Volunteerism and Service Learning Support.

Distinguished Alumni Awards Dinner

Kennesaw State University's 26th Annual Distinguished Alumni Awards Dinner, sponsored by Nationwide, was hosted by the Office of Alumni Relations the night of Friday, Oct. 20. The ceremony was held at the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel and Convention Center, where three distinguished alumni (Don Russell Clayton '80,'81; Connie L. Engel '14; and Carl J. Frinzi Sr. '83) and one current faculty member (Tyra Burton) were honored with prestigious awards.


Tailgate/Football Game

There was a large turnout of Kennesaw State University alumni, along with family and friends of the KSU community who attended the tailgate party and homecoming football game for the Owls the evening of Saturday, Oct. 21. Owl Town made its debut and lots of food, drinks, comradery and fun was had by all who were present for the tailgate and then the KSU victory.
